Eiko Kitao is a Laboratory Technician in the Department of Earth & Planetary Sciences at Santa Barbara City College. She went through the Geology program at SBCC before earning her Bachelor’s degree from the University of California Santa Barbara in Geological Sciences in 2012, and received her Master’s in Geography from California State University Northridge in 2018. She is currently researching the Pleistocene megafauna along the coastal marine terraces of Vandenberg Air Force Base, where she has unearthed giant ground sloths, mastodon, horses, camels, and other mammals.
