Guardian Scholars
What is Guardian Scholars?
Guardian Scholars is a comprehensive program that supports former foster youth in their efforts to gain a college education. Foster care youth are emancipated at age 18 and are forced to make an abrupt transition to adulthood without traditional family support.
At the time they are released from the foster care system, these vulnerable youth often have no jobs, no place to live, only a small amount of money, and an inadequate support structure for making the transition to self-supporting, productive adulthood.
With the help of Guardian Scholars, many of these young people have overcome substantial challenges and have achieved their dreams.
